An electric vehicle (EV) formulated by China, worth $4,500 is now outperforming Tesla’s big cars. Hong Guang Mini EV has created a joint venture with US car Giant Motors. Hong Guang Mini has been the most popular car model. The higher model consists of features like air conditioning at just around $5,000 or more. The cars being denoted as “the people commuting tools”.

The joint venture partnership, SAIC-GM-Wuling, is known as Wuling locally. January 2021, month sales in China were around double those of Tesla, which was questioned this month over safety issues there.

To promote EVs, the Chinese government offers license plates for free with a proven guarantee. In many cities, it can take months, if not years, to get a license plate for a petrol engine through various auction systems.
