Anthony Davis of the Los Angeles Lakers gave it his all in Game 6 against the Phoenix Suns on Thursday, but he was forced to leave the court after only six minutes due to a nagging groin injury.

Because of the injury, Davis only played 19 minutes in Game 4 of the Lakers’ first-round series, and he was unable to play in the final game, which the reigning NBA champions lost by 30 points.

Los Angeles was hoping Davis could persevere in the face of an early playoff elimination. Unfortunately, the Purple and Gold will have to do so without its outstanding centre.
