Manchester United and Real Madrid are said to have struck a “full agreement” on the summer signing of Raphael Varane, a French defender.

Real Madrid and Manchester United have reached an agreement on the summer transfer of World Cup-winning defender Raphael Varane, according to a report from El Chiringuito TV.

The 28-year-old has developed into one of the contemporary game’s most accomplished and successful centre-backs, winning everything there is to win with Los Blancos at club level.

Varane, who won the 2018 FIFA World Cup with France, is looking for a new challenge in his career. The Frenchman’s contract expires in just over a year, and if negotiations for a new contract fail, Real Madrid risk losing him for nothing in the summer of 2022. And it appears that they are ready to cash in on him, with Manchester United poised to make a move.

Varane has long been a target for Manchester United. The Red Devils were interested in signing the 28-year-old before he moved to Real Madrid, and he has been connected with them multiple times since then. However, the 20-time English winners may be on the verge of signing the Frenchman this time around.
