Before his court appearance, Giggs, 47, was released on bail.

Prosecutors announced on Friday that Wales boss Ryan Giggs has been charged with assaulting two women, and he will not be in charge of the postponed Euro 2020 tournament.

The former Manchester United winger will appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court on April 28, according to a Crown Prosecution Service spokesperson.

The CPS statement said, “We have authorized Greater Manchester Police to charge Ryan Giggs with engaging in controlling or intimidating behavior and attack occasioning actual bodily harm.”

Giggs was charged with assault causing real bodily harm to a woman in her 30s and common assault on a woman in her 20s, according to Greater Manchester Police.

Before his court appearance, Giggs, 47, was released on bail.
