Jason Kidd, LeBron James’ assistant coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, was hired by the Dallas Mavericks to replace Rick Carlisle as head coach.
Kidd spent the previous two seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers, winning an NBA title in the process. This will be the Hall of Famer’s third stint as an NBA head coach.
He was the head coach of the Brooklyn Nets from 2013 to 2014, and then the Milwaukee Bucks from 2014 to midway through the 2017-18 season.
In his two stints, he went 183-190, losing twice in the first round of the playoffs and once reaching the Conference semifinals in 2014.
