Boston: Kim Janey was sworn in as a mayor of Boston, becoming the first black person
and first women to hold the office.
Janey became acting mayor recently when previous Mayor Marty Walsh was
confirm as President Joe Biden’s secretary of work. Janey was in her second
year as Boston City Council president when Biden tapped Walsh for his cabinet
